Sindh Teacher Education Development Authority (STEDA) has been established to oversee and regulate the teacher development activites and to maintain the standards of the trainings and the training providers.

Government of Sindh is enriched with 29 institutes for initial teacher education that were delivering out-dated pre-service training courses till 2010.

FAQs

What is the duration of the testing service? Is it a one-off endeavor (single attempt test) or a continuous service? If continuous, then what will be the duration and number of instances.

It will be on-off endeavor (Single attempt test)

Does the grading scheme need to be a Pass/Fail one or spectrum based?

The third-party will submit the final scores of candidates to STEDA only.

Do we have to account for the allied services too, such as Marketing & Communication, for the test takers?

The third party is expected to develop an online registration process. Marketing and Communication is the responsibility of STEDA.

Who will be responsible for the registration of the candidates, the third- party or STEDA?

The third party shall be responsible for the online registration of the candidates and collection of registration fees.

Are there any standard or minimum set of services that the testing services/ exam centers must include, for example, provision of air-conditioning, water coolers/refreshments etc.

The bidder / Third Party shall provide proper seating arrangements and appropriate facilities of clean drinking water to the candidates.

How does the test-taker’s registration modality work and who will be responsible for it, the third-party or STEDA? Similarly, will the applicant also be responsible for document verification etc. of the applicants?

Please see response above of A (4) for the registration process and responsibility of the Third Party and STEDA. The Third Party will determine eligibility of the candidates or appearing for the test based on the submitted documents in line with the criteria given in Teaching License Policy. The STEDA shall conduct confidential verification of the documents of qualified candidates before issuing Teaching License.

Which language(s) need to be tested for proficiency (English/Urdu/Sindhi)?

English and mother tongue (Urdu / Sindhi) shall be tested.

Does the test instrument need to be only in English or needs to be translated? If yes, then in which languages?

The test instrument shall only be in English, except the mother tongue portion.

Is there a minimum number of questions per category that needs to be put in the Model test?

The bidder/Third Party shall provide a model test paper as per the terms set in the bidding document. The test will contain 100 marks.

The test will be aligned with:

National Professional Standards for Teachers (available at NACTE)
Current Teacher Education Curriculum (available at HEC)
Curriculum of Class 1 to 8(available at DCAR):
- 30% of the test should be based on content knowledge.
- 20% on psychometric assessment and the remaining
- 50% on pedagogical content knowledge.
